Piip | THE FIRST MOBILE APP FOR INSTANT MESSAGING & PROMOTION

On July 4, I had the chance to watch an exclusive first day screening of Marvel Studio’s Ant-Man and The Wasp in Gateway Mall, Araneta Center, Cubao.
This special screening was arranged by Piip mainly for their loyal Piip users and select members of the media. Thanks to Mr. Ian Atienza, Piip’s Strategic Advisor for the Philippines, for inviting me.
Piip is the first mobile application created to help businesses promote products and services effortlessly and help Piipsters receive the latest updates without unwanted ads.

Prior to the screening, an intimate press conference was held at the 6th floor of Novotel Araneta Center. While enjoying light snacks and refreshments, I got to know more about Piip’s brief history, features and benefits and what makes it unique compared to the other mobile apps that are already in the market from no less than Ms. Hildegarde Maea Atger, Piip’s Chief Investor and Vice President for Business Development for Asia Pacific, and Mr. Andrei Garlan, Piip’s Business Development Director for the Philippines.
Piip, whose content is merchant-driven, is a trail blazer in that with just one click, one can place orders and reservations and send product inquiries to partner merchants via Instant Messaging.
The app uses a familiar and user-friendly interface. It integrates instant messaging and business promotion. The billboard tab showcases a list of ongoing promotions around the vicinity. Thanks to Piip’s Geo-Targeting feature! The filter option maybe used to select different types of promos and proximity search.
Further, Piip allows its users to communicate with friends about the latest deals and promos. Users may also receive broadcast and notification from ‘liked’ and ‘followed’ merchant stores.
To better appreciate why Piip should be the preferred mobile app for Instant Messaging and Promotion, Garlan shared to us Piip’s competitive advantage versus other mobile apps:
Piip was developed in Switzerland as a messenger app in 2011. It had a soft launch in the Philippines last February 2017. As a pilot test, Piip currently offers promos from merchants in Araneta Center Cubao. Plans of expansion to other key cities and countries in Asia Pacific will soon be underway.

After the press conference, each one got a lootbag and was ready to head over to Gateway Cineplex 9 to watch Marvel Studio’s Ant-Man and the Wasp. Ant-Man and the Wasp is a sequel to the first Ant-Man movie. In the sequel, Ant-Man’s partner, the Wasp, is introduced. That night, I was introduced to a new mobile app that will be my partner in making sure I get the best deals. You see, I live in Cubao and the Araneta Center is practically a stone’s throw away or should I say a Piip away from my residence. Just Piip it!
