<p>The Philippines&#8217; surfing capital Siargao reopens today November 23, 2020. Located in the northern east coast of Mindanao, Siargao is known for its world-class white sand beaches, natural rock formations, cave pools and wild water surf sites. Siargao is also nominated as the <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="https://www.worldtravelawards.com/award-worlds-leading-island-destination-2020" target="_blank">Asia&#8217;s leading island destination</a> for 2020 in the upcoming <a rel="noreferrer noopener" href="http://joelandrada.com/travel/watch-the-philippines-voted-asias-leading-beach-destination/" target="_blank">World Travel Awards</a> on November 27, 2020.</p>

<p>The Department of Toursm (DOT) is in full support of the island&#8217;s reopening. According to the DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, “This is encouraging news for everyone who loves the sea, especially the surfers. As Siargao reopens to travelers, subject to minimum health and safety standards, the people of the island will regain their livelihood and share their paradise to our kababayans once more with the same level of hospitality they have always been known for&#8221;. </p>

<p>As the Philippines&#8217; surfing capital Siargao reopens, the Local Government Unit of Siargao has set minimum health and safety standards to curb COVID-19. This is in compliance with Inter-Agency Task Force&nbsp;for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) directives. Hence, all hotels and resorts are required to:</p>

<ul><li>Get accreditation and a certificate of Authority to Operate (CAO) from the DOT</li><li>Business Permit</li><li>E-Health System Registration</li><li>E-Health Pass or QR Code Reader</li><li>New normal Protocols approved by the Municipal Health Office.</li></ul>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">My quick visit to Siargao in 2018</h4>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" width="1440" height="2560" src="http://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/20180603_165013-edited-1-scaled.jpg" alt="The Philippines' surfing capital Siargao reopens" class="wp-image-8738" srcset="https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/20180603_165013-edited-1-scaled.jpg 1440w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/20180603_165013-edited-1-169x300.jpg 169w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/20180603_165013-edited-1-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/20180603_165013-edited-1-768x1365.jpg 768w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/20180603_165013-edited-1-864x1536.jpg 864w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/20180603_165013-edited-1-1152x2048.jpg 1152w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/20180603_165013-edited-1-1024x1820.jpg 1024w" sizes="(max-width: 1440px) 100vw, 1440px" /><figcaption>Magpupungko Rock Pools in Pilar</figcaption></figure>

<p>When I visited the island two years ago, I intended it to be a solo travel adventure. Coincidentally,&nbsp; my best buddy&nbsp;Jeff, who I have known more than half of my life, flew all the way from Paris to Siargao for a quick visit. He told me to meet me in Siargao. The last time I met him was more than a decade ago. So, without any travel itineraries and pre-booked tours, we rented our own bikes and explored the island for three and a half days.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" width="1024" height="768" src="http://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/C360_2018-06-30-07-43-13-498-1024x768.jpg" alt="The Philippines' surfing capital Siargao reopens" class="wp-image-8731" srcset="https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/C360_2018-06-30-07-43-13-498-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/C360_2018-06-30-07-43-13-498-300x225.jpg 300w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/C360_2018-06-30-07-43-13-498-768x576.jpg 768w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/C360_2018-06-30-07-43-13-498-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/C360_2018-06-30-07-43-13-498.jpg 1633w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Aside from surfing, you can do a lot of other activities when you visit Siargao. Below are the places of interests we went to: </p>

<ul><li>Cloud 9 in General Luna</li><li>Taktak Falls in Santa Monica</li><li>Magpupungko Rock Pools in Pilar</li><li>Naked Island</li><li>Daco Island</li></ul>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" width="640" height="480" src="http://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI_0005.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-8736" srcset="https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI_0005.jpg 640w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/DJI_0005-300x225.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /><figcaption>Magpupungko Rock Pools in Pilar</figcaption></figure>

<p>Watch my vlog when my best buddy and I visited Siargao in 2018:</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<iframe loading="lazy" title="EXPLORING SIARGAO, SURFING CAPITAL of the PHILIPPINES w/ drone shots" width="640" height="360" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/_U-oZA6ZuF4?start=17&#038;feature=oembed" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture" allowfullscreen></iframe>
</div></figure>

<p>Because it was a short visit, I was not able to explore other spots on Siargao like Guyam Island, Corregidor Island, Sugba Lagoon and a lot more. I surmise that to maximize Siargao, I should stay at least five days. I plan to return soon.</p>

<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class=" size-full wp-image-2479 aligncenter" src="http://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/image008.jpg" alt="image008" width="387" height="247" srcset="https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/image008.jpg 387w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/image008-300x191.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 387px) 100vw, 387px" /></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">The most sophisticated travellers set their eyes on the most luxurious destinations and covet only the most premium experiences and amenities: a relaxing cruise in St. Tropez, a ski trip in Zermatt, Switzerland or a weekend beach trip in the Bahamas.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">When it comes to their preferred travel luggage, the most privileged clienteles demand timeless beauty that stands out, and dependable durability that supports their jet setting lifestyle.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Italian heritage brand Bric’s captures the perfect balance between breathtaking fashion elegance and reliable functionality with its core collection, Bellagio.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">The vintage-looking Bellagio collection recalls classic travel bags and the tradition of elegant travel trunks, whose merit is the perfect recovery of such flavors in an item of groundbreaking functionality, strength, and lightness.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Bellagio is recognized by its vaguely squared shape with a somewhat retro allure, enhanced by leather details, like the straps that characterize the front frame and cover the corners.</p>
<p>
<a href='https://joelandrada.com/press-releases/travel-brics-bellagio-collection-the-harmony-of-fashion-and-function/attachment/bellagio-front-pocket/'><img width="150" height="150" src="https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/bellagio-front-pocket-150x150.jpg" class="attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail" alt="" decoding="async" loading="lazy" /></a>
<a href='https://joelandrada.com/press-releases/travel-brics-bellagio-collection-the-harmony-of-fashion-and-function/attachment/bellagio-and-firenze/'><img width="150" height="150" src="https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/bellagio-and-firenze-150x150.jpg" class="attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail" alt="" decoding="async" loading="lazy" /></a>
</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Each piece from the collection oozes with functional style. The compact luggage’s exterior is made of high-performance polycarbonate trolleys in four sizes – light, convenient, strong, functional and handy. Smooth Japanese wheels, a convenient and ultra-light tow, a new TSA lock, leather-coated handles are just a few of the structural pluses of this line.</p>
<p>
<a href='https://joelandrada.com/press-releases/travel-brics-bellagio-collection-the-harmony-of-fashion-and-function/attachment/3-4/'><img width="150" height="150" src="https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/3-150x150.jpg" class="attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail" alt="" decoding="async" loading="lazy" /></a>
<a href='https://joelandrada.com/press-releases/travel-brics-bellagio-collection-the-harmony-of-fashion-and-function/attachment/4-3/'><img width="150" height="150" src="https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/4-150x150.jpg" class="attachment-thumbnail size-thumbnail" alt="" decoding="async" loading="lazy" /></a>
</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">In order to satisfy the need for neatness, comfort and lightness, the interior’s structure has a soft lining with herringbone pattern; both compartments are closed with a zipper and hook respectively to allow perfect arrangement of items and clothes which ensures maximum storage options.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Meanwhile, a hook for the garment bag is provided, but the latter was intentionally not included to avoid too much weight in case this option is not desired by the client. A sleek and small hot-printed leather pocket is also included which bears the Bric’s name and recalls the company’s experience in travel items: Italian travel bags and fine leather goods since 1952.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_2489" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-2489" style="width: 726px" class="wp-caption alignnone"><img decoding="async" loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-2489" src="http://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/5-e1518532886917.jpg" alt="5.jpg" width="726" height="268" srcset="https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/5-e1518532886917.jpg 726w, https://joelandrada.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/5-e1518532886917-300x111.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 726px) 100vw, 726px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-2489" class="wp-caption-text">Bric&#8217;s Bellagio Collection</figcaption></figure></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Leather is used abundantly to enhance the precious craft manufacture of this product, also shown by the leather’s grain and by the exposed stitching in contrasting yarns. There are different colors available, all with tan leather trimmings: cream, blue, black and olive green. New colors: shiny red and shiny grey.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ultimately, Bellagio simply embodies the harmony of fashion and function in its elegant range of trolleys characterized by utter functionality, deliberately designed and created as “cross-products” of Bric’s in that the selected colors allow matching with other Bric’s travel lines: Life for olive green and red, Magellano for black, and Firenze for cream.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">These lines, in fact, offer a variety of carry-ons and semi-stiff trolleys in the same hues to perfectly match with Bellagio and thus create sets that fit all types of journeys and transfers and respond to various needs of modern travelers.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">The collection is available in SM Aura Premier, Shangri-la Plaza Mall, Ayala Center Cebu. Bric’s luxury luggage is distributed in the Philippines by Beawmont Distributions Inc.</p>

<p>I have two questions for you from Casita Mia Bed and Breakfast:</p>
<p>1. Are you a backpacker looking for undiscovered places?</p>
<p>2. Are you planning to have that well-deserved getaway?</p>
<p>If you answered ‘Yes’ to any of these two questions, then you better pay attention.</p>
<p>A good friend, Candice Silerio, has a family business in Caramoan, Casita Mia Bed and Breakfast. Tucked in the small town of Ili Centro, Caramoan, Casita Mia is a beautiful bed and breakfast with modern amenities and welcoming Filipino hospitality.</p>
<p>Caramaoan, located at the tip of the Caramoan  Peninsula, is a first class municipality in the province of Camarines Sur, Bicol. It has a population of not more than 50,000 people.</p>
<p>Tourist destinations include the Caramoan National Park, The Centro and Gota Beach. There are at least 10 must-see islands in Caramoan, Activities include snorkeling, rock climbing, trekking, camping and sunbathing on the powdery white sand. Remember to wear sunscreen!</p>
<p>Caramoan has also been a favorite site for several editions of the famous reality TV show, Survivor.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>There are two options to get to Caramoan.</p>
<p>Option 1:</p>
<p>Take an hour flight from Manila to Naga, one-hour land trip from Naga to Sabang Port, two-hour boat trip from Sabang Port to Guijalo Port and a ten-minute land trip from Guijalo Port to Casita Mia Bed and Breakfast.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Option 2:</p>
<p>Take a twelve-hour bus ride from Cubao to Caramoan via Raymond Bus and then a ten-minute land trip Casita Mia Bed and Breakfast from the bus terminal. Long but scenic road trip indeed!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>For booking inquiries, call 0917-8195150 or email casitashotels@gmail.com and book that well-deserved getaway. Also visit <a href="https://www.facebook.com/casitamiabedandbreakfast.">https://www.facebook.com/casitamiabedandbreakfast.</a></p>
