This is part one of my travel vlog about my recent visit to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to have a quick meeting and, of course, to see, taste and feel what Kuala Lumpur has to offer. The last time I visited Kuala Lumpur was in 2016 to attend a major meeting of the company that I used to work for and I did not have the opportunity to experience what they call the country that is ‘Truly Asia’, Malaysia.

It was a quick visit and unfortunately I did not get to see the outskirts or the countryside of Malaysia. I will be posting Part 2 (blog and vlog) soon to share with you the tourist spots that I was able to visit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Two years ago I was in this same spot to attend a major meeting. Little did I know that that meeting was my last one with the company I used to work for because 3 months later I received a letter of redundancy. A lot of self-discovery and reinvention, to better put it, happened after that. Fast forward to 2018, I am back to traveling and this time it is for the very essence of traveling, i.e., discovering places not just getting to them, meeting people not just faces and sharing not just seeing what is good about that travel destination. Things do happen for a reason.Just gotta #keepthefaith and keep on pressing forward. #travelblogger @pullmanklbangsar

I have always thought that salted duck egg or “itlog na maalat” in the vernacular was and has always been a Filipino delicacy. It is surprising to know that it actually originated from China. It is made by soaking duck eggs in damp and salted charcoal.

In the Philippines, salted duck eggs are dyed red to distinguish them from fresh ones. A popular method of curing the eggs is through the “Pateros style” whereby the fresh eggs are individually dipped in a cake batter made of clay from anthills and termite mounds, table salt and water. The eggs are then packed in boxes wrapped in newspapers and stored away at room temperature for two weeks. The cured eggs are then cleaned and boiled in low heat for thirty minutes.

I personally love eating “itlog na maalat” with fresh tomatoes, fried fish and super garlic fried rice. I am salivating as I write this. LOL.

Now, there is another way of eating salted eggs: CHIPIPZ Salted Egg Chips! Wow! I get to eat two of my favorites, i.e. potato chips and salted eggs, in one snack! CHIPIPZ has been doing the rounds on Facebook lately and I have been hearing from friends how they love it. I did not want to get left behind so I gave it a taste test on the first episode of “EAT OR EEK?” on my Youtube channel.

Their Southern Iced Tea is thirst quenching especially after spending a lot of time in the sun walking. The Senor Pollo Chicken Roast tops my list of chicken recipe favorites! Well cooked yet tender. The sauce or dip is to die for, too. Chimichurri. The waiter told me that Chimichurri is a blend of parley, olive oil and garlic just to mention a few. Because we were so full, we decided to have a short walk in Sapphire Bloc. Lo and behold! Did this building just sprout from somewhere? I was surprised that a lot of decent restaurants are housed there. I should go back there soon.
